ON Friday, August 1, Crediton Museum will be offering a guided walk to complement its current “Home Front” exhibition.

“It’s a one mile walk around the town, explaining how a dozen locations were affected by the Second World War,” says walk leader Tony Gale.

“Mercifully, Crediton was largely unaffected by bombing raids, but nonetheless it experienced massive changes.

People might be surprised to learn how much we can say about half-forgotten facets of the story.”

The walk will finish by focusing on a local military exercise in 1942. “Expect some drama,” says Tony. “That was quite a day.”

The walk will start at the museum at 7pm. Book your place(s) at £5 a head at the museum, or email: [email protected]. Further details at: creditonhistory.org.uk
