CONGRATULATIONS have gone to Elizabeth Jones from Penstone near Colebrooke, who has been awarded a Professorship at Warwick University.

Elizabeth read for her BSc and MSc at Exeter University and was then invited to take up a Principal Teaching Fellow post at the University of Warwick where she is now Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Economics Department.

Awarded a Professorship at April, at the age of 32 Elizabeth is the youngest to achieve this post in the University.

Her main expertise is in Education, Social Policy and Pensions. She has co-authored four economic textbooks and lectures regularly at the Treasury in London.

She recently appeared on BBC Breakfast as an expert in Social Policy, following the mini budget. While in Exeter she taught economics at night school at Exeter College.

When she comes back home Elizabeth sometimes reads the Lessons at Colebrooke Parish Church where her Mum, also Elizabeth, is a Church Warden.
