THE weather stayed fine and there was fun for all at Hayward’s Primary School Summer Fete held in the school field.

The event had a Rugby World Cup theme, starting with a parade of children carrying flags from each of the countries taking part and wearing clothes to suit the countries colours.

There was a tag rugby competition, dancing by children from the Foundation Stage, many stalls, a fire engine, refreshments and other fun games and events.

Organised by the school Parent Teacher Association, and with the help of volunteers, it was well supported and many people stayed and spent generously.

More than £1,800 was raised by the PTA and the money will be spent on supporting children at the school.

Head Teacher Emma Summerfield expressed thanks to all who supported the fete.
