New ’mud’ kitchen for Newton Nippers

NEWTON Nippers Pre-school has recently taken delivery of a new mud kitchen at its premises in the grounds of Newton St Cyres Primary School.

The nursery says: "The children have been enjoying making drinks and ’mud dinners’ - we enjoyed a lovely bowl of ‘vegetable soup’ as well as ‘fish and chips’ this week!

"We are planning to use it for some artwork shortly, to develop skills and experiences in the Expressive Arts and Designs area of learning.

"Continuing with a messy theme we have made a great long "Under the Sea" picture this week, printing crabs, jellyfish and other sea creatures, using our hands and feet.

"We have read the story "Barry the Fish with Fingers" and used him to help us with our counting.

"We also designed a lovely pair of gloves for when his hands get chilly!"
