EAST Worlington Primary School’s Garden Project has been successful in getting into the Calor Rural Community Fund voting round and it needs your vote!

The school has applied for a grant of £5,000, and is hoping to create a multi-functional area, which is usable all year-round, with an outdoor classroom/ seating area, role-play or creative play area, and a network of paths.

In addition, a sensory area for children with autism and for promoting good mental health, an environmental area for recycling, bug huts etc and raised planters for lessons and break times.

East Worlington Primary is a small school with approximately 60 pupils, and being in such an isolated rural area with no public transport it is an important resource in the local community.

The garden is an under-utilised area which is not usable due to mud for about three months of the year.

The school is currently in fifth place, but it’s very close and needs to be in the top 10 to get through to the final.

The schoolchildren would be very grateful for any votes to help them realise their plans for the garden.

Voting closes on June 29. To vote please visit: www.calor.co.uk/communityfund/east-worlington-school-garden-project .
