QUICKES Traditional Ltd, award-winning cheesemakers, of Home Farm, Newton St Cyres, will next month welcome the Earl and Countess of Wessex to the farm as part of the royal couple's tour of the South West, to mark Prince Edward's 50th birthday. During the hour-long visit on Tuesday, June 10, Edward and Sophie will tour the dairy and see the cheesemaking process first-hand. At the end of the engagement, their royal highnesses will officially open Quickes Farm Kitchen – a new pop-up café that showcases the best seasonal and regional artisan produce. Quickes Farm Kitchen is the brainchild of dairy owner Mary Quicke, a dedicated champion of regional artisan produce. Inspired to offer visitors to Home Farm a taste of the highest quality local food, the café will introduce a sensational menu to showcase the seasonal, tasty treats to be discovered in the South West. Set in a safari marquee, the café's temporary structure will take advantage of the picturesque location and host a series of activities over the coming months.
