DURING May half term (May 28 to 31), ANTS, the Actors of North Tawton Society (along with YANTS, Young ANTS) will be performing Red Riding Hood as part of their 40th year celebrations.

This was their first production that was originally staged in 1985/1986.
The show is a re-working of the traditional fairy tale – there are two wolves in the forest for the villagers to contend with!
But rest assured that Red Riding Hood and Granny are on the case!

The script, originally written and produced by Pat Parker, has been re-worked by cast members to add a few twists to the tale.
Anna Field, who plays the Good Fairy, said: “Cast members new and old are taking part and rehearsals have been a lot of fun. The show is suitable for all ages and promises to be an entertaining night out for all.

“The production is dedicated to all ANTS members who are sadly no longer with us and is a celebration of all that the society has achieved and all the laughs that have been shared in North Tawton Town Hall over the last 40 years – by both cast and audience!
“The original newspaper review for the 1985/86 production was entitled ‘How will they ever better this show?’ so let’s hope that this production does just that!”
