THE Cinnamon Trust, the national charity supporting elderly and terminally ill people and their pets, is urgently seeking to put together a team of dog walking volunteers to provide support for an elderly long-term resident of Crediton and their beloved dog, a friendly and lovable Labrador, named Misty.
The charity seeks to keep owner and pet together for as long as possible with the help of a national network of volunteers who assist when day-to-day pet care poses a problem.
The charity also aims to relieve elderly and ill owners of any worry concerning the welfare of their pets both during and after their own lifetime making it unique amongst charities.
Tressa Herriott from the Appeals Team at The Cinnamon Trust, said: “All of our volunteers help in the ways that are most appropriate to them.
“Teams of volunteer walkers take it in turn to visit housebound owners and to take dogs for daily walks. Volunteers can also foster pets as one of their family when owners face a spell in hospital, they take pets to the vet and clean the budgie’s cage out. We take any problem posed in day-to-day care of pets.
“The volunteers can gain access to our volunteer page on our website at: www.cinnamon.org.uk or by emailing us at: [email protected] .”
