CREDITON Town Council is setting up a scheme that will allow people to easily find out which shops in the town allow dogs inside.

Businesses can sign up to the scheme to confirm that dogs are welcome on their premises and in doing so will be added to a public list.

A handful of traders have been added to the list already and the council wants to publish it soon.

The council will also issue window stickers indicating to passers-by that dogs are welcome.
