A PARTY was held at the Exeter Golf and Country Club on Saturday, March 9, to celebrate Debbie Keast’s 50th birthday and to mark this important milestone a charity silent auction was organised to raise funds for Epilepsy Action.

Debbie has had photo sensitive Epilepsy since the age of 16 and was the reason she asked Neil and Hannah Parker to speak on the night about how the condition has affected Neil during his lifetime.

He described how Epilepsy Action had helped them deal with what has been a very challenging condition, explaining that the organisation’s support has been invaluable in many ways.

Andrew Drayton and John Smith from the Crediton Tesco store were thanked for organising the auction.

Rob Pudner from Entertainingly Different made the night great fun with his unique and wacky style of keeping all ages entertained and bringing everything together.

To make it extra special Debbie and Dave’s granddaughter Kaitlyn, celebrated her first birthday as well and their daughter, Hannah, was 29 the day before, so it was quite a birthday week!

Debbie and Dave would like to thank all of the Crediton businesses that supported them with lovely donations, which made the event possible.

Debbie said: “We live in a town that has a wonderful community and people and businesses are always ready to help out!”

A total of just over £900 was raised on the night which was amazing and with a little extra cheese scone selling Debbie is hoping to get that up to a £1,000!

Debbie added: “It was a fab night which was enjoyed by family and friends, who were so generous in their bidding. Thank you so much to each and everyone of you.”
