THE Dartmoor Railway is pleased to announce that the refurbished ex Southern Railway DEMU No. 1118 train has now arrived at Okehampton Railway Station and will be operating some exciting Evening Specials from the station over the next three months.

Trains will also be running over the 25 mile round trip between Okehampton – Meldon Viadcut – Bow on Saturdays and between Okehampton and Meldon to connect out of and into First Great Western services between Exeter and Okehampton on Sundays.

On Saturday, July 18, The Dartmoor Railway will be holding a Real Ale, Jazz and Barbecue evening starting at 6pm at Okehampton Station which will then go by train to Meldon Viadcut and return for the barbecue, followed by a ride to Bow and back.

Charlie Henshaw's Jazz Band Quartet will provide entertainment and there will be a Real Ale, wine and soft drinks bar for what promises to be a very enjoyable evening.

Inclusive tickets (excluding drinks), priced at £20 Adult and £15 Child, will be available from the Okehampton Station Ticket office on Saturdays and Sundays or by calling 07518 764445 (day) or 07818 032612 (evenings).

There will be another Jazz evening on Saturday, September 12.

Murder Mystery evenings will be held on Saturday, August 8 and Friday, September 4.

Inclusive price for the Murder Mystery, Train Ride and Pasty Supper are £20 Adult and £15 Child. The evenings will start at 7pm.
