THE Rt Rev Dame Sarah Mullally, the Bishop of Crediton, led the North Creedy Benefice Pentecost Eucharist Service at St Andrew’s Church, Colebrooke.
More than 85 people attended the service and the church bells were rung before it began.
The Rev Lindsey Starrs led the service and readers included Victoria Littlewood and Jill Ford.
Prayers were led by children from the parish and the Colebrooke Singers and Junior Choir sang anthems and took part in other singing.
The sermon was given by Dame Sarah Mullally and intercessions were by churchwarden, Elizabeth Jones.
Greatly admired was the church raredos, the screen behind the altar, which had been cleaned in memory of Geoff Smith.
Holy Communion was taken by Dame Sarah and Rev Starrs.
Afterwards a celebration cake was cut by Dame Sarah and a splendid tea was also enjoyed in the church.
