WITH some of the most popular musical numbers, a lovely gang of young actors will bring Christmas to July when they present Annie jr, this month.
Bow Productions pantomime tells the story of the girl in an orphanage who is sure she will find her parents. She befriends a dog, played by nine-years-old Trixie belonging to Jude Swift who has the part of the harridan running the orphanage. Watch for her right at the beginning - you might be surprised.
There are so many good songs, Tomorrow and It’s a Hard Knock Life among them.
It will be difficult to come away from this show without a smile and even humming a tune.
Annie jr is the second show staged by this young company that has been going for three years and whose members come mostly from Bow but also from well outside such as Lapford and Hatherleigh.
The show will be staged on Friday, July 29 and Saturday, July 30, doors open at 7pm, curtain up at 7.30pm. Tickets are £7 per adult, or £25 for a family ticket for two adults and three children below the age of 12 years.
It would be best to book because the last show was a sell-out before the doors opened, so there is no banking on tickets on the door this time. Contact the producer, Melanie Cook either via the Bow Productions website or telephone 07511 905 969.
Melanie has trained in drama and child care, at present she is a travel agent. Technical director is solicitor’s receptionist, Elliot Hole.
Mel paints the scenery, does the dance and choreography, as well as the costumes. She said it costs between £400-£600 to pay for the rights to perform the show.
Bow Productions is a non-profit organisation, once costs have been covered and funds are put away for the next show, anything left over goes to Bow Village Hall.
