SATURDAY, June 17 will be an exciting day for Crediton bookshop, The Bookery, when it marks its 10th birthday as well as the grand opening of its new hubspace extension, plus Independent Bookshop Week, which runs from June 17 to 24.  

It will have activities for book lovers of all ages and The Bookery is looking forward to celebrating with its loyal patrons and customers, and toasting its brilliant, growing bookshop.

The day of celebrations start at 10am in the bookshop. It will be a fun-packed morning of author events with children’s art and poetry, including  patrons Sarah McIntyre and Philip Reeve, (superstar creators of “Adventuremice”) who will be creating some live Bookery art.

Author Michael Morpurgo will officially unveil the new extension, a brand-new event space at 2pm.

All are invited to attend for the Big Moment – ribbon cutting, speeches and cake. 

Another special guest, The Gruffalo, will be wandering around enjoying the fun during the day.

There will be free activities for all the family during the day.
