CREDITON Youth Orchestra Saxophone Ensemble was thrilled to be invited to play at the recent Music For Youth Festival at Coombeshead Academy in Newton Abbot.

The Orchestra’s Musical Director, Alison Golby, explained that the group played a varied programme including pieces by Gershwin, Randy Newman and Amy Winehouse and received some excellent feedback from the MFY mentors.

She added: “This was a fantastic opportunity to be part of an event alongside other regional and county ensembles from all over Devon and was hosted by Devon and Torbay Music Education Hubs.

“With the possibility of being invited to play at the next level in Birmingham (en route to the Royal Albert Hall!) this was a very exciting experience.”
