THE president welcomed members to the July meeting of CREDITON.
Minutes of the previous month were read and correspondence discussed.
Names were taken for a skittles evening at the Waie Inn, Zeal Monachorum on July 27 and for a cream tea at Garden Cottage on August 10.
The secretary reported the result of the resolution taken at the AGM in Brighton.
We were sorry that our choice "Appropriate Care in Hospitals for people with Dementia" lost out by four votes to "Avoid Food Waste Address Food Poverty."
This year we have again entered a team for the Industrial Bowls next month. Good luck girls!
For the first time we tried our hand at colouring. So we all sat quietly concentrating on our masterpieces. It is becoming a popular pastime and is very therapeutic and an alternative to crosswords etc.
No doubt members will be continuing at home to aid our "little grey cells."
The raffle was won by Valerie Locke. Flower of the month - Phyl Salter.
Competition (a painted stone) - 1 Anne Grubb, 2 Jean Turner, 3 Phyl Salter.
There will be no meeting in August. Instead we will be indulging in a cream tea whilst the summer lasts.
