A rose purchased to mark the 75th anniversary of the Trefoil Guild at the Scout and Guide Garden in People’s Park, Crediton, now has a plaque to mark the occasion. Crediton Trefoil Guild members gathered at the Garden and found the rose in full bloom. Third left is Eileen Johnston, Crediton Guild chairman and fourth left is Pat Burton, secretary. They thanked Crediton Town Council and the gardener, Mike for caring for the rose. The roses sold by the Guild nationally have raised funds for the charity, Riding for the Disabled. Eileen explained that a 75th Anniversary Thanksgiving Service for Guild members from across Devon will be held at Crediton Parish Church on Saturday, October 20, followed by a tea at the Boniface Centre.
