AFTER several years of voluntary working with Crediton Town Council, Bert and Margaret Jewell have been extended a huge “thank you and farewell”.

A council spokesperson said: “You won’t have been able to miss the numerous floral displays around the town that have been kindly planted, maintained and truly cared for by Bert along with his wife Margaret.

“In addition, alongside the Mayor, Bert has judged the Floral Crediton Competition every year.

“We are beyond grateful for the time, commitment and passion that both Bert and Margaret have given and we wish them well as they retire from their voluntary roles.”
