DR Todd Gray, the well-known local historian and author who was very prominent on the television news during the tragic Royal Clarence Hotel fire in 2016, is about to embark on his latest venture.

To promote interest in Devon, Dr Gray, who is also the current president of the Devonshire Association, is hiking the 109 miles from Lyme Regis in the east to Hartland in the west.

The hike will take place in a series of short stages and Todd will be giving an evening lecture at each daily stop-over.

Crediton plays its part in Todd’s adventure on Tuesday, May 16 when the Crediton History and Museum Society hosts his lecture in the Boniface Centre.

The lecture, entitled “The distinctiveness of Devon” will start at 7.30pm. The admission fee is £2, which includes refreshments.

Be there to hear a very accomplished speaker!
