CREDITON Area History and Museum Society will host an interesting talk by Kay Townsend entitled “Life Behind the Sideshows” at the Boniface Centre in Crediton from 7pm on Monday, October 10.
Kay has spent many years travelling around the country, living and working in fairgrounds.
She will be speaking about how old-time freak shows developed into curiosity shows.
She will also take her audience on a ride upon the Wall of Death and show them a flea circus.
Kay’s talks are always entertaining and informative and this one is sure to be fascinating; especially if you went to a fair in the 1950’s and 1960’s.
Tickets on the door: £3 (or 50p for Society Members), all welcome.
