THE Rotary Club of Crediton Boniface presented 34 bumper gift packs of festive treats to Age Concern Crediton for its clients before Christmas.

In total 34 gift bags were presented and each included many items as well as a £20 shopping voucher for Morrisons, a Christmas card from the Rotary Club and knitted items made by Julia Pratt.

Rotarian Richard Carey organised the goodie bag contents and items were also donated by Crediton Tesco, Crediton Morrisons and Ernest Jackson and Co.

President of the Rotary Club of Crediton Boniface, Paul Radnor, said that the £1,179 funding for the gift packs had come from the club members and a Devon County Council Covid-19 grant of £400.

Mr Radnor was able to present to Crediton Age Concern chairman Jenny Berg, the excess of the funds, a total of £230.

Mrs Berg said: “Thank you very much to the Rotary Club of Crediton Boniface for their huge generosity.

“The gifts will be very much appreciated and a real tonic especially at this Christmas time after such a challenging year.”

She added: “In addition to thanking the Boniface Rotary, we at Crediton Age Concern would like to thank all the people, organisations and individuals, in Crediton and beyond, who have supported the charity in any way during this challenging year. We are extremely grateful as it has enabled us to continue the charity’s vital work.”
