I WAS born in Crediton and have lived in the town or area all my life and did a milk round in and around Crediton with my family for 25 years, but no shop thank goodness. 

Who are the people who come up with these stupid idea for parking meters (“Crediton Courier”, January 12)?

Do they ever consult the poor shopkeepers in the High Street?  I bet the answer is “No”.

Do they not care, surely the answer is no. 

Crediton High Street will die without our shops, so please whoever thought up this stupid idea for charging for parking on the High Street, have a brain transplant and please consider our shopkeepers.

We are in very sticky times yet you (Devon County Council), could find money to put in parking meters which would surely kill our Crediton High Street.

I very much hope the council sees sense and scraps the stupid scheme.
