IN March, 11 members of the Royal British Legion Crediton branch visited Dunkirk Memorial House near Taunton, the only RBL home in the South West.

The group was welcomed and given a guided tour to meet some of the residents by the deputy manager Sally Thorpe.

A cheque was donated by the branch for £1,200, which included monies raised in addition to the annual Poppy Appeal and donations in memory of Crediton member, Derek Rowe, who was an ambassador of the RBL and an adamant supporter of Dunkirk House.

The donation will be used for the direct benefit of the residents and the manager will keep the club informed as to what the residents have requested it should be used for during the next couple of months.

On Saturday, June 2, between 10am and 1pm a social get together is to be held at Clifford Gardens in Crediton.

Everyone is welcome and there will be tea and coffees and a raffle/draw. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
