YEAR 11 students from Queen Elizabeth’s School in Crediton have enjoyed going along to their prom to celebrate the end of exams.

Scores of youngsters in formal eveningwear descended on the Rougemont Hotel in Exeter on Thursday, June 26 for the event, many arriving in impressive cars and some even in tractors.

The students ate food from a buffet and danced to popular music played by a student band.

This year, some wore suits and dresses rented from a new sustainable prom outfit project called “Pre-Loved Prom”.

It was launched in March by a committee of two dozen year 10 students, with the support of charity Involve Mid Devon, to cut down on fashion waste and make prom season more affordable.
