SIXTH Formers from Queen Elizabeth’s School in Crediton spent Thursday, September 28 undertaking First Aid training.
Students who complete the course successfully will be issued with a certificate in Emergency First Aid, which is valid for three years.
This was a fantastic opportunity to learn life-saving skills and is a valuable addition to the student’s CV’s and University applications.
Lorien Salmon, one of QE’s Year 13 students, said: “The First Aid course was extremely useful, and I left feeling confident that if I was in the position of needing to provide first aid, I could calmly and effectively do so.
“Both ladies who ran the course were very knowledgeable, and answered all questions thoroughly.
“I feel I gained numerous skills in a short space of time, including dealing with minor injuries, blood loss, choking and administering CPR.
“It was a beneficial experience, and very worthwhile knowing I now have the registered skills and certificate if the situation arose.”
Lucy Jones, Head of Sixth Form at QE, said: “The training day was great! Well done to all our students who signed up to take part and succeeded in their training.”
