EXETER Leukaemia Fund (ELF) is encouraging organisations and individuals in Crediton to hold an ELF Cream Tea in their workplace or community to raise money and help support families affected by blood cancers and blood disorders across Devon.
More than 600 people each week are treated at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital for a blood cancer or blood disorder.
Established in 1987, ELF supports patients and their families, providing practical and emotional support as well as funding two counsellors and a general therapist within the ward.
All money raised through the ELF Cream Tea will enable the charity to support more families during difficult times in their lives.
Volunteers and supporters at “ShELF life”, the ELF Charity Shop in Crediton, are encouraging local people and organisations to get involved and hold an ELF Cream Tea during June.
Kerry Stevens, Manager of the Crediton shop, says: “We are thrilled that so many people in Crediton are supporting ELF this summer by holding an ELF Cream Tea. The money raised will enable us to fund more services within patients’ communities making their treatment easier and less stressful.
“Devon is known for its cream teas and I urge you to hold an event and support the work that ELF does.”
If you would like to host your own ELF Cream Tea, please see the website: www.elfcharity.org.uk/creamtea , email: [email protected] , or telephone 01392 247725.
