THERE was a very special cheque presentation recently.  The charity, Hospiscare, which runs the Hospice at Home service in the Crediton area, was presented with a bumper cheque for £5,100, the profit from the wonderful Cider and Pasty Proms held at Downes House in Crediton in May.

The event was organised by the Rotary Club of Crediton Boniface and Crediton Town Band and included the Hospiscare Choir, by kind permission of Henry and Susan Parker of Downes.

Margaret Haydon is the only Crediton member of the Hospiscare Choir.

The Pasty and Proms also raised funds for Crediton Town Band.

Sarah Smith, from the Fundraising Team at Hospiscare and Hannah Thomas, Senior Nurse, from Hospice at Home received the cheque.

Ms Smith expressed sincere thanks to all who organised the event, to those who attended and supported it in any way.

She said that the money raised would help fund the specialist nurses who provide end-of-life care in people’s own homes.
