CREDITON Parish Church Harvest Supper was held on Sunday, October 6 in the Boniface Centre.
The supper raised money for the charity "Send a Cow", which was founded in Lapford 25 years ago.
More than 150 people enjoyed the meal and varied entertainment provided by members of the church from young choristers to pensioners.
A grand total of £1,092 was raised for the charity, which is the highest total from the Supper raised in recent years.
The Rector, Nigel Guthrie, said: "I would like to thank everyone who generously supported the Harvest Supper and those who worked hard to make it a very enjoyable evening.
"I am delighted that we raised such a good total to the work of this wonderful charity.
"We should be able to send the equivalent of one dairy cow, two local cows for ploughing and eight chickens!
"It is great to think that from our Harvest celebrations we can bring real benefit to impoverished families in Africa."
