POETIC Licence, open mic poetry in a pub, took place, as part of CredFest, at the Crediton Inn on Friday, June 7.
A big thank you has been extended to the wonderful diverse company of people who took part, who were able to share their poems with all those present, the audience often including family and friends, who were positive and enthusiastic in their response to the poetry.
Jane Tipping and Ysella Sims, who staged the event, said: "A huge thank you to everyone who came and shared their work at the first Poetic Licence; Poetry in the Pub night.
"We were wowed by an inspiring array of voices covering topics as diverse as turkey sandwiches and chips, Steinbeck, microbes, Foot and Mouth, consent, conkers and snails.
"Music was fab - British and American traditional folk songs - Loudon Wainwright III, Christy Moore and many more from the amazing "Etchechuria", a massive thank you Beth and Jack Robson, who provided beautiful lyrical musical interludes.
"Thank you to CredFest who enabled and supported the event, Glen Padgham (our MC), Jo Ward for the loan of the microphone and to the Crediton Inn for hosting this event."
The line up was: Part One - Philip Robinson, Lorraine Bowsher, Michelle Dilling, Claire Duthie and Emma Martin. Part Two - Lucas Martin-Orpin, Jez Taylor, Jane Tipping, Ysella Sims and Jacqui Hunt.
A "Facebook" page has been established titled Poetic Licence and everyone is invited to see it to look up for future exciting Poetic Licence events in the area.
