AN interesting and amusing talk was given by Crediton Mayor, Cllr Frank Letch at the AGM of the Crediton and Area Branch of Devon Senior Voice (DSV).

As well as providing a general background to the University of the Third Age (U3A), which now has a thriving presence in the town, Frank took questions about the services now available at the Market Street town council offices, recently vacated by Mid Devon District Council.

Following his talk, the group held its AGM, during which Chairperson, Carole Towler, looked back over a very successful year, in which the group had hosted the well-attended Dementia Awareness Day in the Boniface Centre, and had many excellent speakers at their monthly meetings.

Four new committee members were welcomed on to the committee and, in her absence, thanks were given to Pam Healey, who stepped down as membership secretary.

The next meeting, on Wednesday, May 11, the Senior Citizen Liaison Team (SCLT), will be talking about how to “Beat the Scammers”. The meeting will take place from 2pm to 4pm in the Meadow Suite at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre.
