A family picnic lunch and safari themed Fancy Dress Competition, hosted by Crediton and District Lions Club, was held in Crediton Town Square on Thursday, August 24.

“Lenny the Lion” led a fancy dress parade for the little ones around the square and prizes were awarded for the children wearing the most creative animal or safari themed costumes.

“Lenny the Lion” (Sheila Whitehead) also posed for photographs with the families.

The children also created some colourful posters for which they received an additional prize.

Families enjoyed a picnic lunch in the sunshine and there were free games for the children to play.
