THE Crediton & District Lions Club Easter Egg draw was once again a great success raising almost £1,500 for good causes.
The Ellen Tinkham School will benefit by about £750 and a cheque will shortly be presented to them.
The remainder will be used to support other Lions activities in the community.
Lion President Peter Bryan said: “Without the myriad supporters of Crediton Lions Club we would not be able to achieve so much.
“A total of 20 Giant Easter Eggs, made by John Bull confectioners in Yorkshire, were raffled in a wide variety of locations and we are indebted to all of them who did so well in support of the Lions.”
The locations included: The Red Lion at Shobrooke, The Red Lion at Tedburn St Mary, The Old Malt Scoop at Lapford, The New Inn at Coleford, The Stables at Cowley, Buccaneers Bar in Crediton, The Tom Cobley Inn at Spreyton, The Railway and The White Hart in North Tawton and the Rose & Crown at Sandford.
Other Eggs were sold by Lions members at the Downes Crediton Golf Club, The General Sir Redvers Buller and at the Crediton Morrisons store.
Peter added: “We thank all those locations for allowing us the time and opportunity to sell the tickets.
“Each Egg was an individual prize draw and 20 lucky people are now tucking in to a feast of chocolate.”
Lastly if anyone in our community would like to consider joining the Lions and helping, without aim, to serve and support the community wherever possible please don’t hesitate to call 0845 833 4962.
The commitment is not as great as you would think.
