CREDITON Library will take part in a new season of film screenings in local libraries across Devon, organised by the Libraries Unlimited Creative Communities team on Wednesday, November 9.

The library will be screening two superb dramas so there is something for everyone.

At 2pm it will be showing “Operation Mincemeat” starring Colin Firth.

It’s 1943. The Allies are determined to break Hitler’s grip on occupied Europe and plan an all-out assault on Sicily; but they face an impossible challenge - how to protect a massive invasion force from potential massacre. Starring Colin Firth, Johnny Flynn, Kelly Macdonald and Matthew MacFadyen. Directed by John Madden (2022). Certificate 12A.

At 7pm it will be showing “Ammonite”, starring Kate Winslet and inspired by the life of fossil hunter Mary Anning.

Despite the chasm between their social spheres and personalities, Mary and Charlotte discover they can each offer what the other has been searching for: the realisation that they are not alone. Starring Saoirse Ronan, Fiona Shaw and Kate Winslet. Directed by Francis Lee (2021). Certificate 15.

Tickets are just £3. To book a place, please visit: devonlibraries.org.uk/web/arena/creditonlibrary or drop in to Crediton Library.

Film screenings will take place across Devon throughout November, providing a range of films to engage and inspire local audiences in their own towns and villages, and in the safe space of their community library.
