CREDITON Library is excited to share the news that the Community Bench Making Project started in Crediton Town Square last Sunday, October 3.

The bench is being created over 12 sessions.

The weekly sessions for those aged 15 years+ will now run on Wednesdays from 4pm to 8pm for six weeks from October 6 to November 10.

The weekly sessions for 11 years+ are on Sundays from 10.30am to 2.30pm until November 7.

People of all ages are invited to take part in the making of a sculpted oak bench together.

Using hand tools and a fallen oak from nearby woods, the carved bench is being made for the Crediton Library Community Garden, to be enjoyed by the local community.

People are welcome to one or several sessions or just to drop by and have a chat with James or Nik from Carving Community CIC about what is going on. Please turn up on the day or call James on 07811 502 354 to find out more.

Thanks go to Mid Devon District Council Love your Town Centre Capital Investment Fund, Crediton Town Council, Evolve, Arts Council England, Exeter City Council and The Friends of Crediton Library for funding the project.
