CREDITON Hamlets Parish Council met on March 5 at the Council Offices in Crediton.
Parish Council vacancy: Following the resignation of Peregrine Leigh there is a vacancy on the Parish Council. As there had not been a request for an election the council may now co-opt. The clerk placed notices on the website and the noticeboards inviting expressions of interest by March 29.
Citizens’ Advice: Councillors discussed the request for a grant and resolved that Cllrs Brook and Cole should hold an informal meeting with other interested parties and then report back to the April council meeting about the possibility of providing a grant to Citizens’ Advice.
Planning: Councillors supported the following applications: 18/00046 Conversion of agricultural building to dwelling at Keymelford Farm; 17/02058/9 Conversion and extension of redundant agricultural building to form holiday let at East Church Farm; 18/00232 Erection of extension with integral garage, alterations to include demolition works at Ravenswood, Crediton.
It was noted that the following Planning Applications had been approved with conditions as filed: 17/01867 Creation of Vehicular Access at Three Corner Moor, Neopardy; 17/01954 Prior Notification for the change of use of agricultural building to dwelling under Class Q at Kymelford; 17/02000 Erection of extension to existing agricultural building at North Hollacombe.?Section 106 Monies: Councillors considered an email from Mid Devon District Council about the use of Section 106 monies and resolved to ask a representative from MDDC to attend the April meeting of the council.
Tiverton Community Transport: This organisation incorporates Crediton Transport and was seeking a grant from the council. It was resolved to defer this request until the April council meeting.
Binneford Cross Signpost: Cllr Brimacombe agreed to investigate progress and report back to the April council meeting.
Roads and Footpaths: The chairman reported that the road between Culvery and Venny Tedburn was subsiding in two places. Other councillors reported the continuing serious decline of local roads.
The chairman reported that at the Raddon Hills meeting of local parishes the very poor state of the local roads and the lack of response from Devon County Council was a chief concern expressed by all.
United Charities: The council resolved that Cllr Brook should fill the vacancy as a trustee on this charity following the resignation of Peregrine Leigh. Cllr Cole is the other council representative on the charity.
New Data Protection Regulations, May 25 2018: The clerk reported that she was going on training re the implementation of these new regulations and would report back at the April council meeting.
Barnstaple Railway consultation: Councillors agreed a response to this consultation.
