CHAIRMAN Pat Uren welcomed members to the February meeting of Crediton Townswomen's Guild and was pleased to see everyone after the snow, which meant cancelling the January meeting.

She introduced the speaker, Mrs Diannah Pritchett-Farrel, who gave a talk on communication.

She explained that when talking to people, eye contact was very important. Children reacted in different ways, by looking at faces, when trying to talk to people and be understood. It was a very interesting subject.

Thanks from the Guild were given by Mary Jack.

A break for tea followed and the business continued. The Arts and Crafts and Painting groups will resume their meetings.

Pam Durrant spoke on the Federation and a report of the meeting was given by Iris Northcott.

Three members had attended the area carol service at Bristol which was much enjoyed.

The treasurer reminded members that the subscriptions of £22 were due at the next meeting.

The competition for a locket was won by Rosemary Hubbard.

Pam then read her usual poem. This one was called "Time Travel".

The March meeting will also be the AGM and the speaker, Kathleen Berry, will demonstrate "flower arranging". The competition will be a "bud vase".
