CREDITON Town Council is urging local voluntary or charitable organisations to apply for grants for 2026-2027 before the deadline of Friday, October 31.

The council considers grants to organisations where the activities will contribute to, and be of benefit to, the life or community and support the people of Crediton.

During the last financial year it approved grants totalling £43,089.

Recipient organisations and grants allocated for 2025-2026 were: Crediton Talking News £350, Crediton and District Lions Club £550, St Boniface Concert Society £600, Involve Voluntary Action in Mid Devon £480.

Crediton Arts Centre (Busk IT!) £700, Crediton Town Band £700, North Creedy Choral Society £700, Crediton Operatic and Dramatic Society £700, Crediton Bowling Club £700, Crediton BAPS £700, Crediton International Social and Cultural Organisation £864.

Crediton Arts Centre £1,000, Crediton Heart Project, £1,000, Crediton Youth Theatre £1,000, Crediton Area History and Museum Society £1,500, Journey Counselling Service £1,500, Welcoming Refugees in Crediton £1,500, Sustainable Crediton £1,600.

Crediton RFC £1,700, Crediton Youth Football Club £1,800, The Bookery £1,925, Crediton Heart Project (Summer Festival) £2,000, The Turning Tides Project £2,000.

Involve Voluntary Action in Mid Devon (Community Builder Project) £2,520, The Folklore Library and Archive £3,000, Citizens Advice Torridge, North, Mid and West Devon £3,000, Churches Housing Action Team £3,000, Crediton Youth Orchestra £3,000, Mid Devon Mobility £3,000.

The council has two grant funding opportunities, large grants (over £700) and small grants (up to £700).
