A POSTER by Lucy Annaly (11), a pupil at Landscore Pimary School, has won the local Peace Poster contest sponsored by Lions International.
The poster, which was amongst a number from Landscore School, was judged by local artist Mike Palmer, as the best.
The runner-up was Eve Scarbrough, also aged 11 and from Landscore School.
First prizewinners were also selected at each of the other local schools which took part, Hayward’s, Bow and Copplestone.
In total 88 entries were judged.
All the first prizewinners received certificates and prizes of art materials were also presented.
The Lions Club of Crediton President, Eric Parkes, presented the awards and was accompanied to the schools by other Lions Club members.
He congratulated the children on their excellent work.
Lucy’s work will be sent on to be judged alongside other winning posters from children in the South-West of England. If successful it could progress from there to national or international level.
