LOTS of home-made cakes plus a selection of Christmas cards and gifts were for sale when the Crediton Friends of Hospiscare held a coffee morning in the Old Town Hall, Crediton.

The cakes included Dorset apple cake, carrot and walnut cake as well as pots of home-made crab apple jelly, shining in jewel colours.

The coffee morning was held in the mezzanine at the Old Town Hall, not the most accessible of venues because not everyone likes using the lift if they can’t cope with the short flight of stairs.

This is one of the groups who would like to find a place for such as coffee mornings in the centre of town that ticked all the boxes for access, ease of kitchen use and availability for Saturday mornings. Not an easy task in Crediton.

A total of £152.15 was raised for the charity.
