AFTER a fantastic 10th Crediton Food Festival on June 9 and 10, which showcased the fantastic local food and drink in the area, the organisers urgently need volunteers to ensure this enjoyable annual event continues.
Committee member Gretchen Oldland explained: "After 10 years of service to our community Tim Harris has stepped down as chairman, though he remains a committee member.
"Other committee members have resigned due to long service and/or increased workloads, so we implore people to consider either joining the committee to help organise the next event or volunteer themselves or their organisation during the weekend itself."
Gretchen explained that the Food Festival committee meets monthly on a Monday evening from 6pm to 7pm at The Lamb Inn in Sandford.
The Festival includes cookery demonstrations, stalls, music and a Sunday lunch.
Gretchen added: "On the lead up to and during the weekend we need an army of volunteers to set up, clear up; sell raffle tickets, and generally make sure everything happens as and when it should do.
"Crediton Food Festival is one of the very few food festivals in the country that is free.
"This can only happen with sponsorship and volunteers."
