THERE was a disappointing turnout at the Crediton Flower Club AGM at the Boniface Centre on October 14.

Even in the difficult times the committee met together, following guidelines.

Gay, the chairman, updated members when necessary with the help of Mary Tasker and June Harry, who were a great support.

Gay thanked June for her effortless energy and who has arranged an excellent programme for the year ahead.

Mary and David Nunn still keep us in touch with the area events on an Area level.

The stall, raffle and teas/coffee are a steady source of income and although our funds are in a fairly comfortable position, with the loss of income due to Covid, we must not become complacent and in order to preserve the long-term viability of the Club and to cover costs next year we must think about fundraising and encourage new members to join.

Mary thanked Gay for her hard work and devotion to the Club.

All Club Officers and Committee are remaining in office.

In June members were invited to a meeting in Mary and Henry Tasker’s lovely garden.

The weather was so kind to us which added to the ambiance of the evening. Great food, relaxing with lovely people, and surrounded by shrubs and flowers. What more could one ask for?

In September the Club welcomed demonstrator Charlotte Dawe to the Open Evening, which went very well.

After close of business members enjoyed a super cheese and wine supper, which Gay had prepared.

Though our numbers were few we so enjoyed being together again.

We would love to see anyone who would be interested to join.

We meet on the second Thursday of each month at the Boniface Centre at 7.15pm.

Tracy Johnson is the demonstrator at the next meeting on November 11, the title being "Out of the Wood".

New members and visitors welcome. Any queries, please contact Gay Mullins on 01363 774791.
