MEMBERS of Crediton Flower Club were treated to double value at their March meeting as not only did they enjoy Jane Wonnacott’s skilful flower arranging but were also thoroughly entertained by her delightfully amusing stories about her busy life as a farmer’s wife.
Jane, from Seaworthy, has been demonstrating for more than 20 years and helps in the local florist shop.
Her title for the demonstration was “Spring forward to Summer” and this was cleverly portrayed in her first design using a ladies court shoe for her container filled with carnations, lizianthus, chrysanths and alstramaeria with colours linking to the pretty design on the shoe.
Jane created four more beautiful designs all being quite traditional with an abundance of flowers and foliage from her garden.
A lovely evening. June Harry gave a vote of thanks.
The next meeting will be held on Thursday, April 13 at the Boniface Centre at 7.15pm and will be a demonstration by Edward Moorman entitled “The most wonderful time of the year”.
Visitors and new members welcome.
