PERHAPS unsurprisingly, both continuing concerns about Covid and the awful weather resulted in a rather limited amount of Crediton Flower Club members coming to their Christmas social evening.

However, it is pleasing to report that those who were brave enough to venture out enjoyed a very happy evening.

Proceedings began with a quiz, which had been prepared by our secretary, June Harry and resulted in much laughter.

The result was a tie and prizes of poinsettia plants were awarded.

Several members then put their creative skills to the test by making a small Christmas arrangement, producing as always, some lovely work.

Crackers were then pulled, paper hats put on, silly jokes shared and then in traditional fashion a delicious “bring and share” supper was enjoyed by everyone.

All this to the accompaniment of seasonal music provided by Mary Nunn with her trusty CD player.

As we look forward to the beginning of another year, the next meeting will be held at the Boniface Centre, Crediton on Thursday, January 13 at 7.15pm.

There will be a demonstration by Gretchen White “The French Connection”.

New members and visitors will be welcome.
