A FIRE crew from Crediton attended an electricity pole on fire near Drakes Meadow, Cheriton Fitzpaine during the morning of Wednesday, May 27.

The crew attended at about 10am.

An explosion, likened to a gun going off was heard by local residents prior to the fire.

Some local properties lost power for some hours after the fire had been put out and until the cable could be replaced.
