A FIRE crew from Crediton, two crews from Topsham and another from Danes Castle, Exeter, put out a fire at a domestic property in New North Road, Exeter, today, Tuesday, August 21.

On arrival Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue crews confirmed that smoke and flames were issuing from the first floor bedroom of the property.

Firefighters used four sets of breathing apparatus, one hose reel and one covering jet to put out the fire.

Ladders and small tools were also used and a thermal imaging camera to check the fire was out.

One male casualty was treated at the scene for mild smoke inhalation.
