CREDITON Town Band would like to thank everyone who attended their Concert to Celebrate the Musical Life of a former Musical Director of the Band, Chris Taylor, in Crediton Parish Church on Saturday, October 11.

The programme of music included music that were Chris’s favourites, and there were solos by his widow Margaret Taylor and youngest son, Rob Taylor.

His youngest brother Gil conducted for one of the pieces of music.

Chris was a highly respected euphonium player, band trainer and Musical Director and was well-known throughout the brass band world.

MC was Paul Evans who gave a lovely account of Chris’s life.

Admission to the concert was free but donations were welcomed for the Royal Devon Hospitals Charity.

Refreshments were enjoyed afterwards in the Boniface Centre.
