LAST year was the centenary of Save the Children and the Crediton committee was delighted to be able to give a cheque for £3,000 to the charity.

“Thanks for all the sponsors who gave so generously, we made a handsome profit from our Musical Extravaganza last autumn, held in Crediton Congregational Church.

“Added to this, Cheriton Fitzpaine gave the profits from its Village Craft Fair with soup and pudding lunches, the school children donated their proceeds from Christmas Jumper Day and the Garden Club gave half of its profit from the Open Gardens.

“This, together with many generous, private donations from all around made up the final total of £3,000.

“On behalf of the Fund we thank Crediton and surrounding areas in helping this wonderful work. So many children will now have a chance to have a life.

“Thank you from Paddy Dornom, Jenny Berg, Judy Tucker and Jan Hadley. It has been hard work but so rewarding. Crediton you did us proud.”
