THE Carer’s Drop-In Café that has been meeting at the East Town Café in East Street, Crediton, since December is having to move to new premises due to that café sadly closing.

Co-ordinator of Unite Carers, Christina Dymond, said: “We wish Lucy well as she was a brilliant hostess and a great source of community information. Fortunately Costa Café has agreed to be our new venue. We will meet on the second Monday of each month from 2pm to 3.30pm.

“If you give care to a friend or relative who can’t manage alone because of illness, frailty, disability or vulnerability then you are a carer.

“You can drop-in for information, advice, support or a chance to chat with other carers over a cup of coffee or tea. We know carers are busy people so if you can only come for a short time you are still most welcome.”

Anyone unable to get to the café but would like to talk to someone about their caring role is welcome to contact Unite Carers in Mid Devon who will be happy to help.

Unite Carers offer information, advice, run various groups for carers and offer a befriending service for carers. For more information about the Café, caring or becoming a volunteer contact Christina Dymond at Unite on telephone 01884 257511 or 07939 290 560 or email: [email protected] .
