ALL the residents of Hillbrow Care Home in Crediton recently had their second vaccine and Vanessa Edwards, the Home’s Activities Co-ordinator, said it felt like cause for celebration.
She continued: "The staff and managers of Hillbrow have worked very hard over the last year to keep the residents safe so having the staff and residents vaccinated feels like a positive step forward.
"They are planning a celebration garden party for the residents very soon.
"Up until now, family and friends have been sitting in a specially built inside ‘pod’ to visit their relative.
"Now, with the partial relaxing of the rules, family can visit ‘face-to-face’ with their relative in the garden or go out locally for a ‘low risk’ visit.
"Hillbrow has been following the Government’s guidelines and the home’s infection control procedures which include taking a rapid Covid test before the visit and maintaining social distancing.
"Everything is starting to feel a bit more normal and the residents are really looking forward to seeing more of their families and friends."
