POLTIMORE House on the outskirts of Exeter is to be the setting for a Middle Eastern Feast to raise funds for the Red Cross Afghanistan Crisis Appeal and Exmouth Town Council’s Afghan Support Appeal.
The grade II* listed building has variously been a stately home, hospital and school and is now managed by the Poltimore House Trust with the remit to preserve this historic building and its estate.
Events including tours, talks, exhibitions, health and well-being events and fairs are regular features at Poltimore House and grounds.
Poltimore House Trustee Rosemary Exton said: “Events are important to us both for fund-raising, and for enhancing Poltimore’s profile with the general public that it is a place worth visiting or hiring. The Afghan appeal is such a worthwhile cause right now as the country faces real crisis, we thought that our facilities here world make an ideal place to stage an event in support.”
The Middle Eastern Feast and entertainment, in support of those in need due to the crisis in Afghanistan, will take place at Poltimore House on Saturday, November 27 at 7pm.
The food will be prepared by Eran, the owner chef of the Baobab Café, Crediton, who is a winner of the national 2021 Good Food Award.
Tickets are £30 per person and bookings are available by visiting: https://bit.ly/poltimorehouse .
